British Book Challenge

You may have noticed that Becky from The Bookette is hosting this fabulous reading challenge for 2011? British Books Challenge 2011. Well, I'm joining. I love supporting the home team (despite not being British myself!!) and will do my best to highlight some wonderful British talent this next year.

Because I live in England, I'm signing up for the Homegrown challenge - which is to read 12 books by British authors in 2011.

  1. Great list! I am excited to read Candy too. I haven't read any Kevin Brooks so it is time that I changed that.
Are you sure Julia Green is British? A rather British name but I'm not sure if she is...?
Thanks so much for signing up to the challenge. Best of luck.

  5. Becky - Hi :) I've only read two books by Kevin Brooks so far, but I've enjoyed them both, so I'm looking forward to reading more from him. Already spoke to you about Julia Green! And thanks.

Nikki-ann - It's a fun challenge, isn't it? I'm not sure how much this original list will correspond to the finishing one though :)

Luisa - Thanks for helping us out there! :)

SJH - I'm quite looking forward to it. And I've been saving The Dead for awhile as I enjoyed The Enemy so much.

  6. Yay - new books I haven't heard of. Off to go and check out goodreads and find them. I really would like to start reading more fiction form British authors, even though I myself am also not British :D

  7. Tammy - oh good luck with that, I think there's some really fabulous British authors writing at the moment, there'd be so much for you to choose from :)

I live here, but I'm not British. Though maybe one day I'll sit and take my citizenship test? Who knows.
