Children's Books
I used to be the children's supervisor at work. Everyone else hated the job - the children's section and the new titles at the front of store were the biggest sections with the most responsibilities. I loved it. It turns out I'm entirely anal and over-efficient with children's books. I loved all the menial tasks I had to do. Alphabetise the picture's books, rearrange the activity books, sort the character books into Bob the Builder and Thomas the Tank Engine. Everything about it, to the weirdo children's reps to the catalogs. I wrote a zillion staff recommendation cards and redid something every week to make things new and fresh. I miss the summer holidays when I organised colouring competitions and prize-entry draws. It didn't even bother me that everyday some new display of mine was wrecked, I loved starting over and doing it all again. I loved the monotony of putting the young adult into A-Z. I loved my job, and I was good at it. I want it back.

Its really awesome when you have a job that you really love, I'm sorry you don't have it anymore.
ReplyDeleteI am as well, but I've got the best job ever right now - being a mom to a gorgeous little boy :)
