There Is No Dog by Meg Rosoff - 4 August I really adore Meg Rosoff and I've enjoyed all of her books so far. When I heard her speak at a Penguin event earlier in the year, she spoke about what There Is No Dog is all about and it sounds absolutely brilliant. Funny too. (I've been ignoring the mixed reviews of it that I've been seeing!)
Chain Reaction by Simone Elkeles - 16 August I think everyone else is probably bigger fans of this series of books about the Fuentes brothers than I am (I preferred Rules of Attraction to Perfect Chemistry!) (In fact, Alex makes me squirm, just a little bit) but I can't not be intrigued and a little excited to see how Elkeles changes the format for the youngest brother. Plus, I really like the cover.
Love Story by Jennifer Echols - 18 August I think I might just be one of Jennifer Echols' biggest fangirls! She writes such WONDERFUL contemporary love stories. I am absolutely GASPING to read this book. I'm so thankful that August isn't too far away and that I don't have too long to wait for this one. Bring it on.
The Fox Inheritance by Mary Pearson - 30th August Last summer when I read The Adoration of Jenna Fox I was completely surprised at how much I came to love the story and the characters involved. Though I really didn't care for the epilogue (why are such things necessary?!) I became all kinds of excited to hear that Mary Pearson was to be publishing a sequel! How fab for me!
Lola and the Boy Next Door by Stephanie Perkins - 29 September The end of September seems absolutely TOO LONG to wait for this book. I thought Anna and the French Kiss was so close to perfection and as a companion novel to that, this book of course jumped to the very top of my wishlist and of books I'm hotly anticipating. I hope it's every bit as good as Anna! I have such high hopes.
Angel Fire by LA Weatherley - 1 October I thought Angel by LA Weatherly was one of the most surprising books I've read in a really long time. I had ideas about what it might be like and I was blown away by how very different the book is. I love the idea of evil soul-sucking angels. I love road trips in novels and I especially loved the chemistry and tension between the two main characters. I badly want to read the next book!
Shut Out by Kody Keplinger - 6 October The DUFF was such a great book that I'm curious to see how Kody Keplinger will follow it up. I loved the sexiness of The DUFF, and Shut Out seems like it will be so much fun. A battle of wills between boys and girls about who can hold out on sex the longest? Just the thought of it makes me happy.
How To Save A Life by Sara Zarr - 18 October Lately I've become a huge fan of Sara Zarr's. I still need to find a copy of Story of A Girl, but from now, I think I shall always be excited for a new book by her. She writes beautiful and complicated and emotional books and I heart her.
Reckoning by Lili St Crow - 27 October The Strange Angels series of books by Lili St Crow is definitely up there with my favourite series of books at the moment. They are so exciting and gritty and filled with so much action and swoon. I'm always left dying to know what will happen next?! AHHHH.Tiger's Voyage by Colleen Houck - 10 November (no UK cover for this one as yet) I've never so immediately and wholly loved a series of books as MUCH as I've loved Tiger's Curse and Tiger's Quest. They're so addictive and fascinating and I was so emotionally wrapped up into the characters and the stories that it was hard to do anything in my life until I'd finished them. I finished both books and I felt like I wanted to re-read them straight away. Which I'm sure I will do whilst I'm waiting for the 10th of November to roll around. Get here quicker, I need my tiger fix!
And that is just the very top of my list of books being published in the rest of the year that I'm excited for. Which books would make your list?

ReplyDeleteI would be interested in giving Jennifer Echols a try with a view of buying some for the library. Which one would you recommend? I have to say I didn't enjoy "The Summer I Turned Pretty" or "Perfect Chemistry" at all whereas everybody else loves them so I am bit weary at trying another YA romance author!

I still haven't read any Jennifer Echols. Shocking! I'm planning on doing something about that this summer.
There are so many amazing books on your list. I'm literally dying for Lola too and I really want to read Love Story by Jennifer Echols. I haven't read anything by her before but this one has really caught my attention.

ReplyDeleteLibrary Mice - I'm going to latch onto the bit where you said 'so far so good' phew! Also, I ADORE Jennifer Echols! My favourite is BY FAR Going Too Far. But it's definitely for older teens.
ReplyDeleteIf it's any help, I wasn't very fond of Perfect Chemistry either,and I can understand entirely if you found Belly from The Summer I Turned Pretty annoying (though I still loved that book!) Good luck, I hope you found some great YA romances.
