Warning

My son is dangerous. I mean that. No one with glasses must come within 15 feet of him without the risk of glasses being torn from faces. This includes me. Sadly, I must go get new glasses because of the little guy, he did much damage to my favourite (I mean only) pair of glasses, and they're now almost falling off my face. I wish I was talking just a little simple screw tightening and we're sorted, but he actually bent the frames. It's not a pretty sight. I guess it could have been worse - I did need to go in for a new prescription as its been well over two years since my last one. Oh well. I never get used to going to the optometrist.

Older Mike: There are seven lost secret fascinations and abilities. They are that: animals can talk; your favorite blanket is woven from a fabric so mighty, that once pulled over your head, it becomes an impenetrable force field, nothing is too heavy to lift with the aid of a cape; your hand, held forefinger out and thumb up, acutally fires bullets; jumping from any height with an umbrella is completely safe; monsters exist and can be both seen an done battle with; and the greatest, most special and regrettable loss of all: the ability to fly.

  1. Kids! I can see the appeal of shiny glasses though. It is sort of like a moth to a flame.

  2. Yes, eventually I too must get a new pair of glasses.. I've had this pair for 7 years now, and the lenses are scratched to hell and the frames don't really fit my head anymore.. Last thing to happen to them was from dog, He knocked me in the eye real good and bent the frame real good.. but yeah..

  3. Glasses and earrings. Two things that are dangerous to wear.

  4. Oh wait thanks for reminding me. I must add glasses to my "destroyed" list. My son did the same thing and flushed my contacts down the toilet. You should take a picture of the glasses how they look we would get quite a laugh if it's half as bad as what happened to mine. They're expensive I tell you, these kids.

  5. Oh no! I wish I'd seen this sooner. I got mine from Vision Express and you pay £20 extra for an 'insurance' policy and they'll repair and replace them for free. Only if they're damaged, not lost, i.e. you need to take the remains of the glasses with you, but I've had two new pairs in the past six months thanks to Harry's love of pulling the arms apart until they either stick like that or snap.
