I have a series of blog posts that I've been thinking about in my head, but I haven't had much time over the last few days to work on them at all. It's been one of those weeks where being a mother has kicked my ass. Littlest not sleeping during the day, Oldest backtalking and misbehaving. Littlest has new teeth coming in and a much busier feeding schedule including all meals plus bottles that I can't seem to be organised for. I feel a bit like I'm being pulled in all directions, with the kids and cooking and the laundry piling up and I burnt my finger and smell like baby sick that I have had zero time for my poor little blog.
Not to go on about it any more, I just needed a little break. Some time to myself FOR myself. So today, with Oldest at his Nana's, I've read at least 100 pages of my book, cleared the sky+ box of episodes of Merlin and Party of Five, and spent the day in my pyjamas. And maybe I still won't have time to blog for awhile, but at least I feel a lot better.
What do you do to de-stress?
i am a walking stress bomb these days. I have no idea how to destress. it's one of those (2 actually) weeks where everything in my life has kicked my ass...
ReplyDeletep.s. all of that to say, I hope it gets better for you!
ReplyDeleteGood for you for taking a day away from everything to recharge. It's necessary sometimes!
ReplyDeleteTo destress I generally stay in my pj's and read, too.
Sometimes you just have to walk away (um, not from the kiddos, but from the other things). I get frustrated when I don't have time to post the things that I do (or more likely read the blogs I love), but I also have to remember that I can't do it all. Sounds like you had a nice quiet day with Eliot at Nana's, though.
