Voice? Gone.

I woke up this morning with no voice. It was hoarse yesterday, but today it's just gone. And of course, today, with no voice I have this urge to phone up old friends and catch up. I want to call the doctor's surgery and another preschool for Elliot. I even tried to sing the theme tune to the Gilmore Girls this morning but it came out a croak instead. I have all these things I'd like to say, to Elliot who's at his Nana's, to N, to my dad. Nothing important, and nothing that can't wait until my voice recovers, but it's TODAY that I want to say it, the one day that I can't. This must be how Ariel felt.
