Just realised I hadn't yet posted this. December was far too busy for much reading, so only the 4 titles again this month. Most blogs I read has calculated how many books they read in 2008, but to be honest, I only started keeping track from May of 2008. Strange how I never thought to do it before. Since May, I've read 63 books. I think that's pretty good considering. Looking ahead at the new year, I think 2009 will be a terrible year for reading for pleasure, especially with my university course starting, but I guess we'll see what happens. I've never gone very long without reading some book or another...
1. Ruby Red by Linzi Glass
2. Double Cross by Malorie Blackman
3. The Graveyard Book by Neil Gaiman
4. Oracle Night by Paul Auster
I think 2008 will always be remembered as the Year I Discovered Paul Auster. Looking through my lists of books read, I read Oracle Night, The Music of Chance, The Man In The Dark, Mr Vertigo, and The Book of Illusions. I still have The New York Trilogy checked out from the library but it's due to go back soon and I've requested Timbuktu and Leviathan off of ReadItSwapIt. I wonder what author I'll become addicted to in 2009. Any suggestions?
Have you read Geraldine Brooks? I loved "People of the Book." Other than that, it's tough. I find that when I seriously love a book, it's usually the only thing that writer will write. Ever.
ReplyDeleteMm. There's also Garden Spells by Sarah Addison Allen - and she put out another book.
Check by my blog in the morning, there will be something there for you!
ReplyDeletewell, he must be good... I'll have to check him out.
ReplyDeleteYou have me intrigued - Paul Auster - I will have to check hime out. Also where can I find this list of 1001 books to read before I pop my clogs? Really enjoy your blog.
ReplyDeleteScrap and Misty - do check him out, he's a fantastic author!
ReplyDeleteHillary - Geraldine Brooks. The name sounds familiar but I can't come up with anything. I will look in the library.
Emmie - thank you so much!
