Sunday salon - bookish movies

Another weekend, another cold :( I woke up this morning with a very
painful sore throat. Luckily N took the boys out this morning and I
was able to curl up on the sofa with my book, Dracula by Bram Stoker.
It didn't last long, I fell asleep before I'd read ten pages! I am
enjoying it though and I'm glad that I'm finally reading a book like
this around Halloween.

I wanted to talk about books being into movies today. With movies like
New Moon, Where the Wild Things Are, Alice's Adventures in Wonderland,
The Lovely Bones and The Road coming out soon I'm getting very
excited. I'm sure others are as well. Which bookish movie are you
waiting impatiently for?

As for me, today, my sky+ box will be keeping me company with some old
bookish movies that I have never seen ... Heart of Darkness, The Red
Pony, World According to Garp and Lolita.

What bookish things are keeping you company today?

  1. We have a cold crisis here as well, guess it's that time of year. I'm also very excited about New Moon, I can't wait to see it. Also, I'd like to see Speak, filmed after a novel by Laurie Halse Anderson.

I read the Heart of Darkness, and to be honest, I didn't enjoy it at all. I didn't see the movie. Dracula is on my TBR list for ages.

Best wishes for a quick recovery!

  2. Hope you feel better soon. I am just recovering from a really bad sore throat that has dogged me for the last couple of weeks.

I haven't got a chance of getting anywhere near a book today, as I presently attempting to pack three suitcases, as my girls going into hyper mode.

I can't wait for New Moon too.

  3. I've never read Alice in Wonderland, and I'm STILL excited about this movie. I plan to read it before it comes out.

  4. Nothing yet! We created a new sewing space for me over the last two days. It's beautiful and lovely and TIRING. I posted pictures on the blogs.

  5. Oh, you must watch The World According to Garp! It is one of my favorite movies ever.

I am really looking forward to The Road.

  6. I cannot wait for New Moon! I bet the movie is going to be a lot better than the first movie. A lot more depressing at least.
I am also looking for Alice in the Wonderland. I've seen pretty amazing pictures from the movie so I bet it is going to be good too.

  7. I read Dracula at this time last year and loved it.

I'm really looking forward to New Moon and The Road.
