Real-life romantic moments: Marriage proposal
It's a sweet story, the way N asked me to marry him. We were in Los Angeles at the time. We'd already decided TO get married (after I blurted out a very suave 'marry me?' when we were chatting online once) and we flew down to the British High Commission to hand in the visa application for me to enter the UK under a fiance visa. While we were waiting, we day-tripped over to Disneyland. I love Disneyland, there's a reason it's called the 'happiest place on earth,' right?
We had a wonderful day, going on the rides and taking goofy pictures with Disney characters. N got really scared on Space Mountain and we boughts lots of Eeyore merchandise in the gift store. It was good day, if a little long.
We stayed for the parade and fireworks in the evening. Have I ever told you how much I love fireworks? I do, I love them. The great big bursts of happiness in the sky. And I stood there, exhausted from the day, but with a big smile on my face, because I adore fireworks. Anyway, N saw how much I loved them and took that opportunity to drag me to in front of the pretty castle all lit up and purpley. He got down on one knee and held out a red rose that lit up when you pressed a button and asked me. Is it terrible that I don't remember the exact words he used? I don't.
We had this nice lady take our picture in front of the castle moments after. (I said 'yes' in case anyone is feeling nervous!) I tried to scan that photo, but it wasn't working, but you can imagine the big smile on my face. Later, when we got back to our hotel room, N dug around in his bag and threw the actual engagement ring in its box at me. He said 'you may as well have that now' and walked out of the room. So ha. That's my real-life romantic moment! :)
