I've decided that one of the things that I need to do is be more appreciate of the good things in my life. Appreciate them more but also to say that out loud, that I'm thankful for certain people and relationships (in both relationships both real and through the medium of fiction). I'm thankful for single moments and also for years of friendship. My gratitude letters will be love letters, almost, to the people both real and fictional who mean a lot to me and to whom I owe gratitude towards in some way.
Dear Diane,
I love our friendship almost beyond words. You've visited this week and it's been the first time in 4 years that we've seen each other. I love that our friendship is one that is strong enough and has enough history to be a friendship that never feels strained or that doesn't suffer from the distance and the time between when we chat or email or see each other face-to-face. It feels as though that will be true of our friendship for the rest of our lives and that makes me very happy.
You are an amazing person, a person, a person who inspires me. You are one of my favourite people to laugh with and even though I've done so little blogging or reading this week, it's been wonderful spending my time with you. Catching up on your life and swapping stories of the last few years. It's awesome to have such a close friend who listens and supports and is there to offer advice and hugs and encouragement for the next stages of our lives.
Here's to us both, to being strong and creative and to be brave going into what we will do next in our lives. I know that I feel better about these things because I have such a good friend in you. Thank you.
Thank you for your compassion, for your strength, for your hope and for your friendship. It means a great deal to me and I want you to know that I appreciate you for who you are. I love you.
Beautiful! :) xx
