Saturdays really are my favourite day of my blogging week as it means I have another interview with a lovely British blogger.
Today is no exception! Today, I have Bella from Cheezyfeet Books, who is pretty awesome. You should totally follow her blog and Twitter!
First, can you tell me something about yourself and your blog?
Hey! Thanks for having me! I'm Bella, and my blog is Cheezyfeet Books. I've been blogging for nearly three years now, I'm 16 years old, and I'm a nerdfighter :)
How did you begin being a book blogger?
I can’t really remember... I just remember reading Twilight, and then finding out about a whole new section of books called ‘YA’ and really it all started from there. I was struggling to find other books to read, and I had a few friends who also couldn't find anything new, so I started my blog so that I could recommend books to people who had similar tastes as me so they’d have something awesome to read. I didn't even know about the blogging community when I started, but obviously I'm so glad that it exists and that I'm part of it.
When you're not reading or blogging, what do you do with yourself?
I go to school. Fun! Not. I play flute and piano, I watch TV (favourite shows include: Big Bang Theory, Gossip Girl, Vampire Diaries, Miranda, Friends...). I (try to) crochet too, but it doesn't always work very well :P
Which book review are you most proud of?
Hmm, I don’t know... I'm not really proud of any in particular. I know which ones I'm not particularly proud of though :P I'm most proud of my most recent ones I guess, I think as I go along they get better and better. Well, I hope so, anyway!
What has been the best experience of being a book blogger so far?
I love meeting other bloggers and authors in real life, that’s awesome. It’s a privilege to be invited to author signings and publisher events that I would not otherwise have had the opportunity to go to, so that’s always great! I can’t decide which launch or signing has been the best though! They’re all amazing :D
You can do it, what is your absolute favourite book?
Agh. Um. My favourite book of last year was The Diviners by Libba Bray, so I’ll choose that one because if I think about it too much I’ll never make a decision!
If you could be best friends with any fictional character, who would you choose?
Ooh, Rose Hathaway from Vampire Academy, Evie from Paranormalcy, Allie from Night School, Harry, Ron and Hermione from Harry Potter... There are lots!
Name your top 5 UK book bloggers!
Oh, but I’ll feel bad if I leave people out! Okay, um:
Cicely from Cicely Loves Books
Iffath from Painting With Words
Stacey from The Pretty Books
Nina from Death Books and Tea
Lucy from Queen of Contemporary
And all the other seriously awesome UK book bloggers out there!
If you could meet your favourite author, who would you like to meet?
Agh, there are so many! I really want to meet Kiersten White, author of Paranormalcy, and Stephanie Perkins, author of Anna and the French Kiss and Lola and the Boy Next Door, because they seem like really awesome people from their tweets and blogs (and their books are obviously amazing!). Also, Jackson Pearce, author of Sisters Red and Sweetly, because her YouTube videos are pure awesomeness.
What would you like to see more of or less of in YA?
I know there are a lot around, but I absolutely ADORE boarding school books! Especially boarding school books set in England, like Night School by CJ Daugherty and of course, Harry Potter! So any more of those would be AWESOME, if you have any recs I’d love to hear them ;)
And finally, who is your ultimate book crush?
Etienne St. Clair from Anna and the French Kiss. No question!
Thank you so much, Bella! I love boarding school stories too! And I love Etienne and really need to read The Diviners...
Over to you, what do you think of Bella's answers? Do you have a crush on Etienne St. Clair? Would you love to be BFFs with Rose or Allie? Would you like to meet Kiersten White, Jackson Pearce or Stephanie Perkins? Let Bella and I know in comments!
St Clair is totally my book crush too - he is so sweet! Great interview :)
ReplyDeleteI love British bloggers! *cheers* Bella is such a nice person and I really like her blog too. I am also a proud Nerfighter! :D
ReplyDeleteMmm... St Claire ;) Great interview, Bella! Thank you for the mention, too :D
ReplyDeleteI really enjoyed The Diviners, too! And funnily enough Twilight was probably the book that first got me properly addicted to YA too, even though I wasn't a huge fan of it. Great interview. :)
