#NewToMeMay Reading Challenge

I decided after the success of both #FinishItFeb and #LGBTApril that I wanted to do something else to challenge me in what I'm reading. So I came up with #NewToMeMay and I hope you'll join me!

#NewToMeMay is a reading challenge designed to discover and read only books by authors you haven't read before. I love reading new authors and I haven't been doing enough reading new authors this year. I hope to change all of that in May and I aim to read 15-20 new to me authors.

The video above shows off my two shelves of books to choose from but here also is a list of the top books I have to choose from:

Slated by Teri Terry
Sun Catcher by Sheila Rance
How to Fall by Jane Casey
The Savages by Matt Whyman
Geekhood by Andy Robb
Between the Lives by Jessica Shirvington
The Moment Collector by Jodi Lynn Anderson
Boys Don't Knit by TS Easton
Take Back the Skies by Lucy Saxon
If You Find Me by Emily Murdoch

As you can see, I have A LOT of possible books to read during the month of May! So many choices I really don't know where to start! I will be posting weekly challenge updates, so look out for those an wish me luck!

Will you be joining me in #NewToMeMay?! Do you have any suggestions on where I should start?

  1. This is such a good idea! I may actually join you in this!
The 5th Wave is brilliant, a bit like Divergent and The Walking Dead TV series mixed together. Sally Gardner is also a good writer.
    Good luck! :)

    1. Thanks, Rebecca, I really hope that you do :)

I've heard really great things about The 5th Wave and it has been the hype surrounding it that has made me put off reading it. Hopefully by now enough time has past for me to try it...

  2. Ooh ooh please read Imaginary Girls! I always like hearing what people make of that one! I agree with you about The 5th Wave as well, I've had it for a while but something about the hype made me doubt it.

    1. Well I shall definitely move Imaginary Girls to the top of my pile :) And hype always makes me nervous, glad it's not just me!
