July Wrap-Up: Life Updates

July was a very up and down month.  The Littlest was in hospital (low point), it was my birthday, YALC happened (high point). And with everything going on, something had to give and during July it was reading, blogging and booktubing. I didn't much of any of them. (This isn't me apologising for it though.)

But time has passed and things are getting slightly better or at least not as bad. Life continues to happen and I keep getting curve balls thrown at me.  But I'll be okay. And it looks like things will hopefully return to normal on this blog soon enough. So, here's looking forward to that.  Will be posting the August link-up for the British Books Challenge very soon and some other reviews and posts.

Let's get on to the books. I read 8 books in July which is actually a lot more than I'd thought. Not bad, not bad.

1. The Young Elites by Marie Lu (4 stars)
2. Dreamland by Robert L. Anderson (4 stars)
3. Reawakened by Colleen Houck (3 stars)
4. The Memory Hit by Carla Spradbery (4 stars)
5. Night School: Endgame by CJ Daugherty (4 stars)
6. My Life Next Door by Huntley Fitzpatrick (4 stars)
7. This Raging Light by Estelle Laure (4 stars)
8. The Closer You Come by Gena Showalter

Total for July: 8
Total for 2015: 97

I read two books by British authors for the British Books Challenge: The Memory Hit by Carla Spradbery and Endgame by CJ Daugherty. Both very good.

My favourites of the month? Hard to choose, I really loved The Young Elites and This Raging Light. I think it's a tie between those two.

Plans for August? Take it easy on myself. Put no pressure on myself to read or blog or booktube or do anything else. But the books on the top of my TBR pile are: Asking For It by Louise O'Neill, Railed by Philip Reeve, Darkmere by Helen Maslin and Counting Stars by Keris Stainton.

At the end of August, I'll return to my normal wrap-up format! Have a good reading month.

  1. I'm sorry your little one was in hospital - hope he's doing okay! <3 I've just moved to England and I'm really missing home but I'm hoping that I'll enjoy it here. There's a lot of exploring to be done so I think the next few months will be exciting for me! Hope you have a wonderful August! <3
