Distractions

I finished this yesterday. I'd meaning to read a book by Lisa Jewell for absolutely ages for two reasons. The first is, she'd come into Books Etc awhile back to sign some new books and she was lovely. I felt bad when I said 'no, I hadn't read any of her books - but my husband loves them!' She was a little surprised with that last bit, but that's reason number two. My husband isn't a big fan of fiction books, but he's read a few of her books (he's attracted by the colourful covers) and he recommended them to me. I feel obligated by both of those reasons: because I've met the author I feel like I owe it to her to read her books, and because my husband hardly reads anything I'd consider reading, I found I HAD to read it. And he's made good recommendations in the past. Anyway, it was quite a sweet story, and I like the way it ended. It always seems like it's the 'fat girl' I relate to the most in the books I've read recently, so I'm feeling all of my weight issues surfacing again. Anyway, it was yet another distraction to keep me from reading The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, and SOMEHOW oops, I started another book that I'm quite enjoying...

  1. You should read Thirtysomething and Vince & Joy. Thirtysomething is my favourite chick lit book.
