Dreams CAN Come True
Every year our church has a summer fete, and every year something goes wrong, ie we forget. Not so this year. We got there just as it was opening, and everything was great. Bought me a burger and some books (10p for paperbacks, 20p for hardbacks - bargain) and a handknitted jumper for Boy for next winter, and then I saw it. A Teddy Ruxpin perching off the end of a table. Oh my god, how much did I want a Teddy Ruxpin when I was little? I nearly fell over when the woman said 'it'll be yours for 70p' 70p!! For a real Teddy Ruxpin! I couldn't pull my wallet out fast enough. Now if only England win it'll be the perfect weekend. Sigh.

I just loved teddy ruxpin when I was little! I still have it after all of these years!
ReplyDeleteHe was always that toy I desperately wanted, but never had. And now I have one, excuse me while I go do a little celebratory dance!
ReplyDeleteOh, I so loved my teddy ruxpin. I wish I'd hung onto it ... instead it was passed to the younger kids, then off to the thrift store. Poor Teddy Ruxpin. I'm glad yours has found himself a nice home!
ReplyDeleteOh my god! I can't believe you own one! Last time I tired to buy one on e-bay the bidding went to £50. Can he talk? does he really tell you stories?
ReplyDeleteI think you've realised the dream of millions of children (from the 80's) everywhere.
