November

I've always hated the month of November. Out of all the months it seems to be the most depressing, with the soggy leaves on the ground, the rain, the fact that it means Halloween is over for another year. Nothing really good ever happened to me in November. There's always Thanksgiving, but growing up it was never my favourite holiday (more about this nearer to Thanksgiving possibly). When I was pregnant with Boy last year I kept thinking 'please don't be born in November, just don't be born in November' (My due date was the 4th of December) but now I think it's a good thing that Elliot was born in this month. It gives me a reason to look forward to November finally.

Halloween post-mortem: There were no trick-or-treaters. I was so disappointed that my husband took pity on me, went outside and rang the doorbell. It wasn't quite what I was expecting, but he gets points for trying. Enjoy another picture of my cute little boy, this time in my bat wings!

Sorry about the lack of trick or treaters, maybe next year :-)

  2. Your husband loves you.

We don't get trick or treaters either. We live on a really busy street, probably not safe. Also, within the neighborhood there seems to be some unwritten code that you only go to the houses with halloween decorations. Did I miss the memo?

  3. We had tons of trick or treaters and most of them were rude! I think next year I'm going to refuse to give candy to anyone over 12 years old. There were more adults and teenagers than little kids.

  5. No trick or treaters?? How sad!

I really like November. It's finally cool here, (arizona) and I really love Thanksgiving. I love planning my menu and cooking tasty treats!

    Here from Wendy's!

  8. Man, oh man, it's sad if trick or treating disappears. We had all of 5 this year.

    I love that pose!
