British Reading Challenge 2013

You may already know this about me and this blog ... but I love supporting British authors :) Which is why I will be joining the BBC reading challenge, this year being hosted by the lovely Sarah from Feeling Fictional.  I think the previous hosts, Kirsty from The Overflowing Library and Becky from The Bookette have done a wonderful job and I am excited to see Sarah take over the reins for this fantastic reading challenge!

Here is the list of books that I intend to read for this challenge.  In 2012, I read 58 (I believe!) books by British authors, and just over 200 books.  Which makes the ratio of books by British authors to be roughly 1 in 4.  I really want to increase this number to maybe 1 in 3. Or even 1 in 2? I wonder how possible that could be.  I will do what I can in order to read as many books by British authors as possible!

The following list may change, as I am ONLY reading UKYA until the new year.  But here is my list of books up for consideration for this challenge in 2013...

Beads, Boys and Bangles by Sophia Bennett

Have you read any of these books? Where do you recommend that I start? Or what is your favourite book by a British author?

  1. This list looks great - there are quite a few on here I'd like to read myself! Rebel Heart by Moira Young is awesome, you should start there :). I'm going to go have a think about my own list for the challenge now...

  3. Thanks so much for signing up Michelle, you always do so much to support British authors. We should have a think about if there is any kind of joint project we could do later in the year that fits with the BBC and your
    Celebrating British Authors feature!

You have some fabulous books on your list and I'm looking forward to reading your reviews :o)
