I hate introducing myself. At my tutorial, the lady asked us to pair up to the person next to us and 'introduce ourselves' so we can present our partner to the class in five minutes. First, she took way longer than 5 minutes, it was more like 25, and I hate doing that so much and second, forced public speaking - what had I gotten myself into? Luckily the girl sitting next to me was great and we had lots in common, but last year when they did the exact same thing I had this man who could barely speak English who when it came to his turn ended up making up half the stuff about me, and I had to just sit there and cringe. But last Saturday, halfway through the tutorial, we were talking about constitutions and my tutor says 'let's ask our American friend to explain...' What is it about speaking in front of strangers that makes me want to curl up and die?
