But the surprises didn't end at going to the beach a day early! For my regular blog readers (oh, how few of you there are!) you will all know that I was quite disappointed that Momma Cherri's Soul Food Shack was booked for Saturday - it's an American restaurant that I'd seen on Gordon Ramsay's Kitchen Nightmares (that serves CORNBREAD! How much do I love cornbread?) and my husband managed to book a table (for three adults and a baby) for Friday lunchtime. Oh, it was yummy food. I actually tried catfish and didn't hate it. The cornbread was yum-scrum, and so was the sweet potatoes, and the jumbalaya, and how disappointed was I that I'd eaten too much and couldn't manage a dessert?! I ALWAYS have room for dessert, or so I thought. Anyway, Momma Cherri's - highly recommended.
