Maybe not Everyone's Thing...

I've been watching loads of movies recently, none of them worth mentioning, except this one. I'd read the books ages ago (by Ann Brashares) and loved them (I laughed, I cried) so I was quite looking forward to seeing how the movie of The Sisterhood of the Travelling Pants would work. The movie stuck reasonably close to the book - and what's best, it kept to the right tone and feel of the book with the bits that were altered. I love when that happens, especially in this case because the books covers so much: death, and love, divorce and above all friendship. Carmen and her father's relationship made me weep, but that's what I loved watching this movie. Sisterhood of the Travelling Pants was just what I needed: a feelgood movie with its share of tears.

Lou Lou Who: I'm glad he took our presents. You can't hurt Christmas, Mr. Mayor, beacuse it isn't about the... the gifts or the contest or the fancy lights. That's what Cindy's been trying to tell everyone... and me. I don't need anything more for Christmas than this right here: my family.
