Breathe by Sarah Crossan Blog Tour

I'm quite happy today to be part of the Breathe blog tour with author Sarah Crossan! There will be a giveaway, an extract of the first chapter and two songs that Sarah has chosen for the playlist for Breathe - make sure you catch them all!

Here is the cover and product description, in case you haven't come across it yet...

 Inhale. Exhale.
Breathe.
Breathe.
Breathe . . .
The world is dead.
The survivors live under the protection of Breathe, the corporation that found a way to manufacture oxygen-rich air.

Alina
has been stealing for a long time. She's a little jittery, but not terrified. All she knows is that she's never been caught before. If she's careful, it'll be easy. If she's careful.

Quinn
should be worried about Alina and a bit afraid for himself, too, but even though this is dangerous, it's also the most interesting thing to happen to him in ages. It isn't every day that the girl of your dreams asks you to rescue her.

Bea
wants to tell him that none of this is fair; they'd planned a trip together, the two of them, and she'd hoped he'd discover her out here, not another girl.

And as they walk into the Outlands with two days' worth of oxygen in their tanks, everything they believe will be shattered. Will they be able to make it back? Will they want to?

And if that just whets your appetite, do check out the extract...

Which songs would be on your Breathe playlist?

I listened to ‘Just Breathe’ by Pearl Jam on repeat while I was writing the book; the lyrics and melody fit the tone of the novel perfectly. As I got to the end of the book though, I discovered Kate Rusby, and I think of her song, ‘Who Will Sing Me Lullabies,’ as Bea’s theme tune. It’s doleful. Listen and try not to cry—I challenge you!

Thank you Sarah!  I hadn't heard either of those songs previously, but they are both very pretty. Especially the Kate Rusby song... that's being added to my collection soon, for sure.

GIVEAWAY - To be in with the chance of winning a copy of Breathe (UK and Ireland only, I'm afraid!) just leave us a PICK ME comment (together with some way of contacting you) with your thoughts on Breathe - what you think of the cover, the description, the songs that Sarah has chosen...

A winner will be chosen and emailed in one week's time. Have at it!

  1. Pick me! I'm looking forward to this book very much. I like the cover too. I'm very partial to Alexi Murdoch's Breathe which was used in the last Stargate series.

  2. Pick me~
I LOVE the cover of breath, the ground is really professionally crafted. The cover artists should be really good to do that.
The synopsis really looks interesting. I have read books that contain love triangles, but they have always been the same: two boys and one girl. But two girls and one boy? that would be different.
I hope that you will choose me to win, thanks for the giveaway:

  4. Pick me!
I read the first chapter of Breathe on another blog, and NEED to know what happens next! I'm quite into dystopia at the moment, and this book sounds like something I would ADORE. The cover is fab, it almost looks like something from Docter Who, if you know what I mean... I agrre with Soma that the love triangle with two girls and one boy should be interesting, and can't wait to see how it turns out!

I love the songs you've chosen, especially Who Will Sing Me Lullabies. I hadn't heard any of Kate Rusby's songs before, but after listening to this I listened to some of her other songs... I think I may have found a new favourite!
