Holiday traditions

I know it's still only the beginning of November, but whatever - Christmas is almost here.

If I had the chance, I'd probably buy a new set of ornaments for the Christmas tree every year. And then still try to clutter the tree with the previous set as well. N tries to restrict things to ONE new ornament a year, but it hardly ever works. This year, he's thinking of reducing the number of ornaments we have by quite a lot, which I'm sure means new ornaments, right? Here's our newest, a sort of patchwork bauble. Isn't it cute?

  1. that is incredibly unique...

Our tradition is every person gets an ornament, every year, which somehow has something to do with the year that's passed...

  2. I like to buy one new one a year, one for each child that represents something about them and we buy a christmas ornament when we go on family vacations as our souvenir. That why we aren't buying stuff to "clutter" up the house and we remember the vacation at least once a year.

  3. I LOVE ornaments (all decorations really). I've been wanting to make some for years because I love the homemade look of my mom's tree, but too scared to make the plunge. Have you ever made any ornaments?
