Proud Bookworm!

Emmie over at Emma's Dilemmas and Great Expectations gave me this super cool bookworm award awhile back and I'm so excited. I love awards. Especially something like this which is very me. This one comes with rules.

Rules: Pass it on to five other bloggers, and tell them to open the nearest book to page 46. Write out the fifth sentence on that page, and also the next two to five sentences. The closest book, not the coolest, or the one you think will sound the best. THE CLOSEST.

My nearest book is the book I'm currently 'reading' which is Atonement by Ian McEwan. I started reading it years ago, put it down, picked it back up again, put it down, etc. Until this weekend where I read 100 pages before putting it down again. Illness makes me feel like not reading, so I'm not. Regardless. Page 46 says this...

From where she had arrived by the window she could see that Briony had crossed the bridge to the island, and was walking down the grassy bank, and beginning to disappear among the lakeshore trees that surrounded the island temple. Further off, Cecelia could just make out the two hatted figures sitting on the bench beside Hardman.

Make you want to read the book if you haven't already? No? Me either. Anyway, for this one, I tag Kate because she works in a bookstore, like I'd love to do (again) and because she's just really nice. ShadowFalcon because I had the bestest time ever working with her at our old bookstore (I miss you), Keris and Hillary (who I'm not sure even reads this blog!) for being super talented and having their own books published in the near future, and um... I can't think of a fifth.

And if that wasn't enough, Becca from I'm Me, What More Do You Want? one of my oldest friends has passed on the following awards (amongst others)...

And because she gave hers to everyone who reads her blog, I'm going to follow suit. Everyone who reads this blog is officially awarded, feel free to claim your prize!

  3. I hated Atonement... I warn people off reading it because I disliked it so much!
I think it's partly his writing style (I tried to read another of his books and there's too much detail and describing) and partly because I hated the character of the little girl so much, it made me hate the book!
